A very special beer. This is an update to one of my favorite beers in the world, Mikkeller Nelson Sauvin Brut. This time they have started the process with wort produced by Lambic producers, a spontaneously fermented beer aged in oak barrels for 1-3 years. It is then blended with the Nelson Sauvin hopped Brut, with brettanomyces added to bring the beer to Champagne level carbonation. Big, bright gooseberry and lemon notes, some nice acidity and sourness and some brett funk. Complex and delicious.
