Domaine Fontsainte Corbieres "Gris de Gris" Rose
We finally got our hands on some Domaine de Fontsainte Rose after trying for a few years. Usually the State of Maine only sees a few cases and they are all pressed, and let's just say naming your store Bier Cellar doesn't put you high up on the allocation list. But we persisted, and here it is. A truly unique Rose, made from a blend of grapes from Southern France like Grenache Gris, Grenache Noir and Carignan. The first vineyards on this site go back to Roman times and they produce some amazing red wines from these vines. But this Rose is amazing, more mineralogy and acidity than a lot of the plonk that calls itself Rose, here's Kermit Lynch's description: "A jewel in terms of price, quality, and consistency. After years of experience tasting Gris de Gris rosé, I’m tellin’ ya, you can’t go wrong. You have to spend much more to find anything as good."
